What we say:
I buy my clothes from my department stores, I get my
insurance from an insurance company and I bank with a bank
(albeit an online one). With this logic I rent my DVD's from
a DVD rental company not from a company who wants to make a
quick buck renting DVD's then selling half a pound of mince
to me at the same time.
Price is only metric you should judge Tesco on. If money
really is an issue then these maybe are for you. You must
remember though, you get what you pay for in this life, and
while you may get a better deal with Tesco's they may very
well not service you as well as you'd expect to be serviced.
When DVD rental isn't your core business you'd expect to
lack where others excel, and this is the case. Tesco's site
really does lack in quality, it's slow to load, difficult to
navigate and just looks like a bolt on to the Tesco.com
site. Their turnaround really isn't anything to write home
about (or post a review on the net about) which means the
one redeeming feature they have - their price, is left
lagging behind what is a service that could be much
improved.
They do offer a free trial however, so if you're testing
all the providers and you've trialled the top 3, you might
as well give them a try.
